When your products are on eBay, you’re a bit ahead of your competitors. But it’s just the first step to raise your sales. Here are a few tips that may help you increase traffic and, eventually, gain more customers.
Accept more modes of payment. If you are used to accepting only credit cards, PayPal or Money Order as modes of payment, why don’t you try to expand it by taking all other modes of payment? Consider this: many customers are comfortable issuing checks, and you may be turning them away if you don’t accept this mode of payment. I know this might be scary on your part, but there’s no harm in trying anyway. At first, you may try holding the order until the check clears. If the customer comes back to buy more from you using the same mode of payment, you may as well give your trust to that customer.
Terms and Conditions. It is worthwhile laying down all your Terms and Conditions, including other information that customers should know or would possibly ask about their transactions to avoid misunderstanding with them later on. This also saves them time and effort to further e-mail or call you for clarifications.
Ship worldwide. Being on eBay means your products can be viewed even up to the other end of the globe. And again, if you limit your shipping schedule to certain destinations only, potential customers on that side of the world may not be able to avail of your products, and may as well turn to your competitor who offers shipping in their direction.
Optimize. It pays to learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Do some reading and research on how customers find your products and how your items are ranked in user searches. Please make sure, though, that your SEO activity conforms with eBay policy; otherwise, you will lose your listing exposure.
Product presentation. Present your products in high quality photographs, and you should have them snapped at different angles. Poorly-taken photographs usually equate with poor product quality and lack of seriousness on the part of the seller.
Product brand and logo. This aspect is crucial because customers are keen about product brand and quality. When you have established your brand, people will think that you are a serious seller.
